ඇත්තටම Blu-Ray කියලා හඳුන්වන්නෙ Blu-Ray Disk (BD ) කියන එකට.අපි මේ Blu-Ray Disk පාවිච්චි කරන්නෙ දත්ත ගබඩා කර තියාගන්න device එකක් විදිහට.ඒ කියන්නෙ Optical Disk Storage එකක් විදිහට. Blu-Ray Disk වලට Blu-Ray කියන නම වැටුනෙ ඒවාගෙ දත්ත (data) read සහ write කරන්න පාවිච්චි කරන්නෙ තරංග ආයාමය (wavelength) 405 nm වන blue-violet laser (කිරණ) නිසා.
මෙම blue-violet laser නිසා සාමන්‍ය DVD එකක මෙන් 10 ගුණයක පමණ ධාරිතාවක් (capacity) Blu-Ray Disk වල අඩංගුයි. ඒ කියන්නෙ Single-layered නම් 25GB ක් පමණද Dual-layered disc නම් 50GB ක් පමණද වශයෙන්. ඒකට හේතුව , සාමාන්‍ය DVD එකක දත්ත read සහ write කරන්න පාවිච්චි කරන්නෙ තරංග අයාමය 650 nm වන red laser නිසා .ඊළඟ post එකකදි මම මේ තරංග ආයාම,laser කතාව ගැන වැඩි විස්තර කියන්නම්...
මොකද්ද මේ Single-layered සහ Dual-layered කතාව.Disc එකක් ගත්තාම ඒකෙ දත්ත ගබඩා කරන ස්ථර ගණන 1 ක් නම් ඒක Single-layered disc එකක් විදිහටත් , දත්ත ගබඩා කරන ස්ථර ගණන 2ක් නම් ඒක Dual-layered disc එකක් විදිහටත් සරළව අපිට හඳුන්වන්න පුළුවන්.
ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් Blu-Ray Disk පාවිච්චි කරන්නෙ High-definition video, Video Games වගේ ඉහල ධාරිතාවක් තියෙන දේ ගබඩා (store) කරන්න.
Blu-ray discs were first introduced on the market in 2006, and have capacities of 27 gigabytes for single-layer discs - 13 hours of standard video - and 50 gigabytes in the case of double-layer discs - 20 hours of standard video.
ReplyDeleteAnd there is something called HVD - Holographic Versatile Discs. According to published statistics, when produced in full scale, HVDs will have a storage capacity of 3.9 terabytes (39,000 GB) and a data transfer rate of 1
GB/s, which is at least six times more than the
speed of DVD players. I will post a full description on HVD's in my blog including how it works, speed...etc :)
